Throughout the duration of the Urban Tree Festival you are invited on a ‘Tree Song’ Tree Trail in the trees of Islington. You can listen underneath the branches of the trees.
From Gillespie Ecology Center along the railway wildlife walk to Parkland walk there will be QR codes situated near specific trees. These can be scanned with your mobile phone in order to listen to acapella ‘Tree Song’ recordings.
To locate these trees please download the TiCl Free Tree Trail app in the week of the UTF and search ‘Islington Tree Song Tree Trail’ or sign up here for an email update with a map and information a week before the event.
The week will culminate in a short live vocal performance of a collection of Phoebe Coco’s ‘Tree Songs’ , including Robert Macfarlanes ‘Heartwood’ and original songs ‘Tree Song’ and ‘Sycamore Trees’. The performers will be an all female family voice group with members Sophie Wright and Grace Wright-Spinks.
